The Fun Still Isn't Over

So, just when I thought it couldn't get any better...I now have SHINGLES!!!

WHI-HEW!!!!!!!! And yes, it is a result of chemotherapy treatments because chemo is an immuno suppressant treatment, which gave the virus the opportunity to find its way out. Good times. And I thought the embolism was as fun as it could get.

Well, I am alive and cancer-free and that's a good thing. It just all a bit insane if you ask me. Sure as heck hope it doesn't get too painful. Apparently, the pain factor can vary. We shall see.

  1. This is ridiculous!

    I'm so sorry.

Now you can provide a community service, giving chicken pox to kids. :)

Seriously, people haven't been posting on local parenting boards looking for the pox.

  2. Oh Bert, you gotta laugh or you'd cry! Shingles!? I hope they are not too painful.

  3. Shingles - well, damn. You sure don't deserve this. But, better than cancer. And sometimes they are not too bad - let's hope that's true for you.

What I love about your blog, Bert, is the constant humor. For example the photo of house shingles accompanying this entry. Priceless.

I will be thinking of you. And hoping for the best. Wendy iN MN

  4. Hello! I'm a new reader to your blog. I found you at Ode Magazine at the David Servan-Schreiber article. I'm sorry to hear you have shingles, but you are cancer free. Congratulations on that!

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer last June. I'm in my last round of chemo now. Our outlook and blogs are similar in their themes. I hope you will also read mine sometime. We may be able to share a lot with others!

If you'd like me to link to your blog at my site, I will.

Have a wonderful evening and thank you for sharing! And, get well soon!
