Relief Will Be a Beautiful Thing

I am still waiting to see my Colorectal doctor - the appointment hasn't been scheduled yet. In the mean time, my family doctor said I have an anal fissure: inflamed tears or ulcers that arise between the mucous membranes and the outermost skin of the anus. So, I am not doing anything in the way of enemas until this heals. The fissure is not all that big, but at the same time, it sure as hack doesn't feel good!

I'm doing multiple sitz baths each day as well as topical Calendula ointment. Relief is soon and will be a beautiful thing.

  1. How in the heck did you tear that? It sounds painful just in the way it rolls off the tongue.
I can only assume that it is common with this tratment. Are there other ways to get it?

It sounds like a real pain in the butt.

  2. You mention sitz baths before, and I wasn't sure what it entailed. I googled it and the definition was a bath with water to relieve discomfort from hemorrhoids. Do you use regular water or a special mixture?

  3. reply to bubel:

sometimes i do a chamomile tea sitz bath. lately i've just been doing distilled water.

    reply to madcup:
i don't know the source of fissures. i don't even know if they're common for gerson patients...
