My intention is to share my experience as honestly as I know how.
My commitment is to transform our current cultural conversation about cancer from one of fear and dread to one that empowers those of us who have cancer, as well as our friends & loved ones.
I had cancer. Cancer didn't have me.
vivi, it was a gift to have you here. thank you so much for making it possible to be here for a week. i cried about 10 times today thinking of having had to say goodbye to you.

It was an amazing thing to experience a ‘Gerson household’ for 5 days (almost 6). For those of you who haven’t witnessed it, it’s really something to see. They now have three refrigerators and a dishwasher, and the place has been completely rearranged so that there are a couple of places for Bert to rest, allowing him to change the scenery here and there or get some privacy. There’s a fairly regular flow of people coming and going, either there to help, or bringing fresh organic produce. I got to meet some of you who came to the house to prep vegetables, make soup, make juice, and hold baby Beau. Thank you Jackie, Mom and Jim, Patty, Deborah and George, Michelle, Grandpa Steve, Sandy and Jan, Karen, (and anyone who I may be forgetting!). And thank you to all of you who I didn’t meet this week. Your being there is what makes this possible, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to allow my big bro to do this therapy. Without you it simply would not be possible. It allows Bert to rest his body and his mind, and Daniela, who’s currently hopping around with a broken toe, to have that much more sanity and a sliver of normalcy. And it allows them to focus attention on Cal and Beau, which is obviously something that can’t be sacrificed.
ReplyDeleteBert and Daniela, you are doing beautifully. I am completely inspired by your courage and strength. I love you both.
And I did finally stop crying once I got to Moosewood! ; )
vivi, we will ALL be crying when we can have dinner at the Moosewood together....

Hi Robert
ReplyDeleteI am new at this (blogging)but becoming a vet at the Gerson THerapy myself. Was at BNC last August! Almost 13 months on therapy now. What a journey eh? I send my love to a fellow Gersonite. I am in Australia. I can empathise with much you said. March on Robert! I am also having Network Chiropractic which helps the nervous system. Amazing! Tell you more if you are interested.
